I’d say thats the biggest impact you had on me. You reminded me to cook with my son. He has a form of Autism and eats very few foods and is sensitive about smells so I got into the habit of leaving him out of that. But it turns out he likes helping alot. PS Your cookies look sweet.

Yes, I chilled it. I used a Martha Stewart recipe, and hers are notoriously failurriffic. I think my mistake was not getting the butter to true room temperature. And maybe I used a little too little. Another recipe I looked at (after the fact) includes a tablespoon or two of milk, which would certainly loosen things up just enough, I bet.

I want to get the recipe for sugar cookies they have at Dufflet’s. I have dreams about their sugar cookies. And cheesecake.

Did you chill the dough before you baked? That might help with the cement-yness. I like to leave mine in the fridge overnight before rolling out. Just wrap it in some plastic.

To be honest, they aren’t that great: the dough was so stiff and hard to roll out that the cookies are really hard, like biting into cement. And the icing is made of ancient powder sugar that tastes a little weird.

I think the reason they look good is the pretty colours. And sprinkles. Sprinkles make anything look perfect!

And I do believe there are still enough for everyone.
