You reminded me to cook with my son. He has a form of Autism and eats very few foods and is sensitive about smells so I got into the habit of leaving him out of that. I used a Martha Stewart recipe, and hers are notoriously failurriffic. I think my mistake was not getting the butter to true room temperature. And maybe I used a little too little. Another recipe I looked at (after the fact) includes a tablespoon or two of milk, which would certainly loosen things up just enough, I bet. I want to get the recipe for sugar cookies they have at Dufflet's. I have dreams about their sugar cookies. And cheesecake. Yes, I chilled it. And the icing is made of ancient powder sugar that tastes a little weird. I think the reason they look good is the pretty colours. And sprinkles. Sprinkles make anything look perfect!
