Tikikaiju
I sketched out the plan for Tikikaiju – Godzilla having just finished a large tiki version of himself in the jungle, as the snakes look on approvingly. It’s being painted on a quite large 48″ x 60″ canvas. It is being painted for sale, so the final piece will be a little larger since it’ll also have a custom frame.

Nice work Shannon and nice photo. Did you leave the red eye in on purpose? I also went to work today and worked on my drawing. I have never been able to produce on a canvas that big. Bless you. I like this blog much better than your other one. Its nicer. You should tell us about your art training, whether or not you were self taught, schooled or both.

Do you make your own canvases? I have a hard time finding them in large sizes.

Miss Pixie Styx - Highschool art classes, a few as a kid, and mostly drawing. I had a fine arts scholarship to York University but dropped out after a year and never really went to class. So on the whole, self taught.
Gayle - I buy them at Woolfits here in Toronto. It’s way cheaper than making them myself — this was something like $25-$30.
Keppy - I’m just waiting for photos of Josh’s and then I’ll post and update.

Why did you drop out? Do you use Wet Canvas or Deviant Art? They are great sites.

It’s going to be a good few years till we’ve got money above simple subsistence level. When I’m rich, however (note optimism) I’m gonna fly to Canada and buy all those paintings. I REALLY like them.

I’m mostly self-taught artist myself.
I took all art classes in high school.
I only went to art school for short time.
my favorite mediums in art are welding, sculptures and painting.
I like to paint metals after welded them together.
I did some painting on canvases too.
