The Blind Lizard
I’ve nearly finished my latest painting. It needs a few minor changes and then just framing. It’s called “The Blind Lizard”, an homage to Millias’s classic painting “The Blind Girl“. In it, all the animals marvel in glee at the spectacle and beauty of the double rainbow, with the exception of the blind lizard who can’t see the rainbows. She can however experience the beauty of the sensation of simply being alive; the feeling of the fresh air after the rain, the sun on her face, and the sounds and sensations around her.

One can always find the beauty in life by focusing on the simple pleasures. “Well done Shannon”. (When do you sleep? All that you do!!)

my favourite is the dots on the blind lizard’s robe, they look so 3d.
and your shirt

Beautiful. I was thinking about being blind last night as I was walking under the stars. My brother is blind. I hope you create a children’s book. You are very talented. Use your talents for good and not bad, for construction, not destruction.

Reminds me of a book I had as a child, called Kartusch, a blind green snake who teaches these imaginary little “fluffs” about observing the beauty around you through olfactory sense other than sight.
I want a tattoo of Kartusch.

If so, I would like to see it. Because I am angry with a clergy man and I am about to turn one of my photographs and another one of my drawings into a fuck you drawing.

While I do love the blind woman painting, particularly with it’s new frame, I have to say that the green painting, below, is my favourite. Of all time. Love, love, love it.
